Women’s seminars Ghana / Philippines

Both the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association as well as the Confederation of Democratic Workers of the Philippines (CDWP) organized events directed to the position of women. Both seminars were very successful. In Ghana the seminar was visited by the Secretary General of the Fédération panafricaine des employés (FPE) and Vice-president of the WOW, Koffi Chrysanthe Zounnadjala Agbogbe. He took part with two executives from the trade union in Togo. Koffi marvelled at what took place in Ghana and has communicated his desire to carry out a similar activity in Togo. It was such a success that the youth have asked for a seminar especially serving their needs.

In the Philippines the CDWP organized an activity which they named ‘Sundate’ (short for Sunday date). The topic was ‘Women Workers’ Rest Day: „A Closer Look“. 10 women achievers from different fields of competence told their stories on how they were able to reach the ladder of success. It was a very inspiring event which will surely get a follow-up.

About WOW

WOW was founded as a Social Christian trade union and finds inspiration in the spiritual believe that man and universe were created by God or by persuasions coinciding with that. The increase of intercultural contacts provided opportunities for the WOW to expand and broaden its view with visions of other religious backgrounds. WOW does so in a joint attempt to build a world community based on freedom, dignity, justice and solidarity.
