On Friday 10 October 2025 the Congress of the World Organization of Workers-WOW elected a new WOW World Board.
Wayne Prins was unanimously reelected to a third four-year term as president of WOW. António Manuel Carita Franco was elected as Treasurer. Apart from that there were also the elections for the WOW World Board.
The new WOW World Board for the period 2025-2029 consists of the following persons:
- President WOW: Mr. Wayne Prins (Canada)
- Treasurer: Mr. António Manuel Carita Franco (Portugal)
- Vice-President: Mr. Wolfgang Pischinger (Austria)
- Vice-President: Mr. Andrew Regnerus (Canada)
- Vice-President Europe (WOW-Europe): Mr. Mikael Arendt Laursen (Denmark)
- Vice-President Latin-America (FELATRABS): Mr. Arturo Fabián Quiñoa (Argentina)
- Vice-President Latin-America (FELATRACCS): Mr. Roberto Marcos Mejía Alarcón (Peru)
- Vice-President Latin-America (FETRALCOS): Mr. Fermín Víctor Carricarte (Argentina)
- Vice-President Africa (FPE): Mr. Koffi Chrysanthe Zounnadjala Agbogbe (Togo)
- Vice-President Asia (WOW-Asia): Ms. Necie M. Lucero (Philippines)
Not for election:
- Executive Secretary: Mr. Bjørn Anders van Heusden (Netherlands)
New in the World Board is António Manuel Carita Franco (Portugal). António Manuel Carita Franco took over the position of Treasurer from Tanya Sörensen who in turn replaced Rolf Weber a year-and-a-half ago. Another new face is that of Andrew Regnerus (Canada). Andrew Regnerus was asked to become a part of the WOW World Board to give support to Wayne Prins in his tasks.
The WOW wishes the newly elected board all the best during their mandate. It further warmly welcomes the new colleagues in its midst.
